With Hand-Written Notations whilst on the Lunar Surface! + Gene Cernan Provenance
This is the actual checklist page representing the second of three rest periods on the Apollo 17 lunar landing mission. This page 5-7/5-8 is from the Apollo 17 Lunar Surface Checklist (SKB32100123-363 S/N 1001) and originates from the personal collection of the last man on the Moon, Eugene Cernan. The Lunar Surface Checklist was one of the most important and most utilized documents from the astronauts stay while on the Moon's surface.
This particular page represents Cernan and Schmitt's second night of sleep on 12-13-72 (both pre-sleep and post-sleep procedures) between EVA's 2 and 3. Page 5-7 details activities related to re-charging the PLSS backpacks for the very last moonwalk, as well as stowing unneeded equipment and excuting a LM power-down. Page 5-8 was where the crew detailed their sleep time, food consumption and logged any medication taken.
Measures 8" x 5.5"
Buyer will receive a photo of Cernan holding the page.
