The mission of Apollo 13 was slated to be the third manned lunar landing mission, to the Fra Mauro region of the moon. Just two days out an oxygen explosion not only cancelled any hope of landing on the moon, but left the crew in mortal peril.

This 3-DVD set, features the compete TV transmissions and onboard film from the voyage, and includes footage from training and preparation for the mission, inlcuding EVA training, explanations of the planned mission that was never completed, as well as coverage of rollout, suitup, launch, recovery, extensive mission control footage during the days following the accident, recovery footage, and footage of world reaction to the successful homecoming of the crew. The set features exclusive commentary during Mission Control footage from Sy Liebergot, Apollo 13 lead EECOM, and during Saturn V erection and launch by Dave Mohr, Propulsion Designer and Engineer.

DISC 1 - APOLLO 13

APOLLO 13: The Real Story- Original documentary constructed from the television, film and audio record detailing the Apollo 13 mission, what was planned and how it unfolded. Provides an overview to the detailed material in the set.

Geology Training - Lovell and Haise undergoing Lunar EVA geology training in Hawaii. Audio from pre-flight interview with Jim Lovell.

EVA Training - Lovell and Haise training for their Lunar EVA. Audio description of the planned lunar surface activities. Silent.

Crew Training - Simulator work, LLTV work with Jim Lovell, T-38s with Lovell and Haise. Audio from air to ground during construction of the lithium hydroxide canister fix after the accident.
