This double sided circular Star Chart labelled, CF55062-I Serial No. 54 has a diameter of approx 9.5 inches and has a center pivot for rotating the clear position indicator section against the white background star field.
The front side depicts the North Declination and the rear has the South. All the major constellations were pre-printed and labelled on the star field, however the planets were added using small decals as their positions needed to be up to date according to the time of the mission.
The chart comes with a signed COA from Gemini V Pilot Charles 'Pete'Conrad, which reads in part, "This is to certify that the star chart…CF55062-1 Serial No. 54…was flown onboard Gemini 5 with Astronauts Charles P. Conrad and L. Gordon Cooper". Cooper has also co-signed the COA with, "8 Days or Bust! Gordon Cooper, Commander Gemini V"
This item also comes with a photo of Cooper holding the chart.
