Apollo 8 Flown US Flag

6x4 inch US Flag was flown to the Moon aboard the
first manned lunar mission, Apollo 8 in December 1968.

Mounted onto a 10x12inch official NASA display card which has printed below the flag,
"THIS FLAG WAS CARRIED ABOARD THE FIRST MANNED LUNAR ORBIT SPACECRAFT"
with hand signed signatures from Apollo 8 Astronauts, Jim Lovell and Frank Borman.

The card has been inscribed as "To Ron - With Very Best Wishes - Frank Borman" and co-signed by Jim Lovell.

Apollo 8 was the first mission to send men beyond Earth orbit and into lunar orbit. In historical terms Apollo 8 is second only to Apollo 11 and as such items flown on Apollo 8 are deemed to be very desirable.

The flag display has been framed using high quality archival materials and UV protective Acrylic glazing to an overall size of 15" x 16.5"
