This 6 x 4 inch US Flag flew onboard the Apollo 14 Lunar Module, Antares alongside Alan Shepard and Edgar Mitchell to the Fra Mauro region of the Moon, where it remained for over 33 hours, before blasting off back to lunar orbit to dock with Stu Roosa in the Command Module
The flag is from the personal collection of Lunar Module Pilot, Edgar Mitchell and was stored in his PPK (Personal Preference Kit) during the journey.
The flag is affixed to a plain black card, (approx 11x8 inch) ready for framing.
The flag is in overall very good condition, but has some creases and areas of black smudges
