The coldplate comes with a COA from it's original creator, M J Davies of Historic Space, which reads in full:
I certify that the piece of metal encapsulated within the accompanying acrylic block is an authentic relic of flown coldplate shielding from the Apollo 11 Command Module 'Columbia'. From July 16-24 1969 the spacecraft carried astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins on the historic journey to the moon and their safe return back to Earth.
This Coldplate shielding was used to protect the critical components on board the spacecraft by screening them from thermal extremes and solar radiation
I personally removed the coldplate shielding piece contained within this acrylic block from a larger plate of this material
This is Apollo 11 Acrylic number 61
