Apollo 14 Flown US Flag Presentation with Edgar Mitchell Signed 8x10 Photo

This stunning framed presentation contains a 6x4 inch (approx) United States flag flown to lunar orbit during the Apollo 14 mission to the Moon in February 1971. Framed with a stunning 8x10 inch photo of Edgar Mitchell on the lunar surface hand signed by Mitchell.

The flag was carried to Lunar Orbit onboard the Apollo 14 Command Module, Kittyhawk and was stowed inside Mitchell's personal preference kit. The 8x10 inch photo shows Mitchell on the lunar surface searching for the rim of Cone Crater and was hand signed by Mitchell with "Edgar Mitchell Apollo 14 LMP"

US flags are the most sought after of all the nation flags flown on Apollo.

Also framed in the presentation is a COA from Edgar Mitchell which reads in part, "This document certifies that the accompanying 4" x 6" USA flag was carried in my personal preference kit (PPK) aboard Kittyhawk from January 31, 1971 to February 9, 1971 during the Apollo 14 mission"

The COA goes on to state, "The flag bears my signature and it has been in my personal collection since the mission." However it seems that Mitchell did not get to sign this flag before his passing, which was also the case with several other of Mitchell's flown flags. This can been seen in an additional COA from Mitchell's daughter Karlyn Mitchell.

Due to the lack of signature, the price for this flag is far less than our other Apollo lunar orbit flown flags, such as this Apollo 12 Flown US Flag which is $9,995

The presentation also contains an Apollo 14 AB Emblems 4 inch patch and 80mm x20mm brass plaque which reads, "Apollo 14 Flown US Flag - This US flag was flown to lunar orbit during the Apollo 14 mission Feb 1971"

Overall framed size is 28.5 x 14 inches. Frame, flag, COA and signed photo are all excellent condition.
