Lunar meteorites are one of the rarest materials to find on Earth, and a perfectly legal way to own a piece of moonrock!
The Moon Rock NWA 4881 – very fresh material, unaltered by terrestrial weathering, also scientifically of importance, as it represents a rock from the somewhat deeper lunar crust, therefore it isn’t so mixed and turbulent like the usual breccias from the debris and regolith blanket on the very surface. Nevertheless such material was found in small fragments incorporated in some of the mixed fragmental breccias among the Apollo-rocks.
Consist mainly out of feldspar, olivine, pyroxene – the latter converted by impact shock to the meteorite-specific shock-glass maskelynite.
Each case is 2 1/8 by 1 1/4 inches in size
